This unique hall table with a lower shelf was created with a maple hardwood slab with beautiful spalting and figuring. Some cracks were filled with resin and a larger crevice was left natural for a custom, one of a kind look. Finally, it was fitted with custom metal legs.
Figured Walnut Dining Table
Wayne McWilliams built this beautiful dinning room table. The top is made of figured black walnut with tapered walnut legs highlighted with a pair of spalted maple panels. Ambrosia maple chairs are a great complement to the table.
Spalted Maple Counter Top
Craig and Rachel were remodeling their family room and wanted to add some uniqueness to their kitchenette. They chose a piece of live edge spalted maple to complete the project.
Walnut Slab TV Stand
This TV stand, made from one of our walnut live edge slabs, is yet another example of the natural beauty of our products. By keeping the live edge slab the focal point of the piece, it only took some sanding, stain and metal hairpin legs to create this one of a kind TV stand.
When looking closer you can see, by just removing the bark and leaving the natural edges, this piece is truly one of a kind.

Walnut Floating Shelves
Looking for an easy way to add character to any wall in your home? Floating shelves such as these, are a great, simple way to do just that. The natural edges on these walnut live edge boards adds character and makes each one similar but unique.
The live edges add depth and detail to the shelves and don't need to be filled up with stuff because they are so artistic by themselves. This example was used on a dining room wall but our live edge boards could be used to make shelves of all shapes and sizes for any room in your home!

Maple Coat Hanger
One of the best parts of making a project with our live edge lumber is the simplicity of it's natural beauty. When using live edge lumber you can let the piece be the show; instead of adding elaborate details you can just highlight what is already there. This coat rack is a piece of our maple live edge hardwood lumber with holes drilled to place old rail road ties which can be used as hooks. Just some light sanding and stain and a project similar to this can transform the entranceway to your home.
By keeping the rail road ties secured with a snug-fit they are able to be removed to access brackets behind the board to secure the coat rack to the wall.

Walnut Coffee Table
Here at Hammer Creek Hardwoods we love to see how our products can take any project and make it truly unique. The natural beauty of our hardwoods really does speak for itself and so this blog is going to highlight just that. There won't be long paragraphs describing our day or what we're wearing (We know you can find that somewhere else if you really need to!). Instead, its going to be a place where we highlight projects that have been completed with lumber supplied by us and made by you! Who knows, maybe we'll also add the occasional update on new stock on its way to our inventory.
So to start the highlight reel, here is a project that was completed by us. This is a coffee table made from an English Walnut slab. As you can see we used a bow-tie connection to restrain the small crack in the one slab arm and used epoxy to fill in the rest. The bow-tie was made from one of our Maple hardwood boards. There are many techniques that can be used to keep a crack from spreading but we really liked how the bow-tie added a little extra detail to this slab coffee table.
If you're a past customer and have used our hardwood slabs or boards to complete a project please send us some pictures! With you're permission we'd love to highlight your work on the blog and give some inspiration to other woodworkers! Just give us a short description of the project and a picture of it in use!
